The Failure of Americans and America

Hello I know it has been awhile, but there are just some things that need to be discussed regarding my lovely nation and those that occupy this nation.  There are several issues with America that Americans will need to solve to accomplish and make things better.

  1.  Stop acting like the news media is your source for correct information on politics and laws.  You need to do the research yourself to make an informed decision as the media does not present all the facts and all the interpretations. Furthermore, the news media is heavily biased and they cannot be trusted.  There are people who should not be office, but are because Americans only pay attention when it is an election year and do not research.
  2. Remembering that the news media is a business not an organization.  News media makes money off selling news about horrible things because they know that Americans are emotional creatures who can be swayed through emotions rather than facts and common sense.  They need to make a profit and good news does not sell.  For instance, our troops were helping locals rebuild town and cities in Iraq, but only bloodshed was published on our media.
  3. Videos and memes posted about political candidates, parties, and laws.  Those generally are coming from a biased individual and those cannot be used to stay informed.  Only researching yourself will make you better informed.
  4. Identifying by the color of our skin.  Racism is still a problem because there are parents teaching their kids that the color of our skin is important and the color of someones skin tells who that individual.  BAD TEACHING!! We should not teach children how to identify people by the color of their skin because this leads to racism.  When the outside world looks at us they see United State citizens as Americans therefore we should all see ourselves as Americans.  There is nothing wrong with identifying with your ethnicity (like practicing traditions of the country your family came from, teaching the language of your former country, and etc.)    However, the only way to quell racism is to stop judging someone based on the color of their skin and stop teaching to hate  different types of skin.
  5. Education system. Our education system terrible.  We need to do a revamp of the system to make ourselves more competitive with countries like Japan.  Also make the parents responsible to some degree for not having education as priority for their children. Many parents want to blame the school and teachers (sometimes they are the problem) for the reason their child is failing rather than looking at themselves.  It is your job as a parent to make sure that the children get the support and our being disciplined to succeed in school and life. If they do not succeed then you are partially responsible.
There are many other issues in our country, but many of those problems can be solved with making informed decisions and presenting solutions (i.e. homelessness, crime, and etc.) However, those 5 issues are critical to our nation.  Many of our issues can begin to be resolved through the American populace.  Protestors in the 1950s and 1960s were able to succeed with Civil Rights because they had informed individuals leading the people (like Martin Luther King Jr.) they were able to inform them that peaceful protests can change the circumstances and can change the laws.  Also they informed them why it was important to make this change.  Rioting and destroying property will not help a cause, but make people turn their heads because all they see is a bunch of adults taking their rage out on innocent people properties.

Parents and the Government Part of the Problem with Education in America

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/18/us-mayors-back-parents-_n_1604975.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000003

The summary of this article is that the parents are taking back the schools.  Mayors and city councils are supporting laws and passing laws that make it possible for parents to override the school boards in their school districts. The parents now have the ability to fire teachers and do what they want with the schools like make them a private institution.   My problem with this education system is that some parents are to blame for the way things are going as well as the government. These mayors have the nerve to support these new laws, but they are not going to there state government or to the federal government to handle these problems.  They are the ones that need to take responsibility for the mess that the schools are in and the parents need to take more responsibility for not making their kids increasingly responsible for their grades (talking mainly high school with this comment).  The parents are responsible to encourage and help their children get good grades and to focus on their education.  They should punish for bad grades (not talking beating the crap out of them or anything like that).  People are so quick to blame teachers, but in reality it is a combination of all three. I am not trying to make an argument that all teachers are good teachers, there are a few that are terrible teachers.

However, I think that everyone is responsible for the school systems failing.  The federal government does not focus enough on education.  They should focus on education because then you are going to have a surplus of workers for  minimal wage or for specialized areas in the future.  We need to encourage students to go to school and to do better than what is expected of them.  They need to be taught by parents, teachers, and the government that school is important, they need to be encouraged.  On the other hand, this is not a perfect world so there is always going to be people that are going to drop out, government officials that do not care, and teachers that are bad teachers.

The government needs to focus on math and science programs so that we can get Americans into the fields.  However, that may not happen because employers can pay foreigners less than they can with Americans.  Americans can still fight for a better educational system, but please stop putting all the blame on teachers, school boards, and the administration because it is not solely there fault.  The parents need to make there children learn what responsibility and take responsibility if they have bad grades and if they think the teacher purposely gave them bad grades then they need to go to the school administration or the school board.  For example, when I was in school I felt like my PreCalculus teacher was not teaching me correctly and I went to the school administration to take me out of the class and to make a formal complaint. In the end, he was gone sometime within the year.

Finally we are not going to have any real changes done unless we elect those that may have gone to a public school or put their kids in the public school system.  Everyone in Washington  Brother HL-2240 Laser Printer

Supreme Court and Video Games

http://blogs.forbes.com/mobiledia/2011/06/28/supreme-court-blocks-violent-video-game-ban/

I totally support this ruling. The reason is because there is already an age limit for the video games in place. It is the parents job to monitor their kids and make sure that they do not have those video games and if they do they need to take them away. Parents need to take responsibility for their kids if they game is rated Mature-17 and over purchase than do not get it.

Do not blame the video games for the reason a kid acts out. Before you purchase the game for them you need to tell them that it is fake and not real. I honestly do not think that any teenager is stupid enough to believe that it is real. However, if they do than they do not need to play that game, they need to go get some counseling.

Also it si the job of the retailer to check IDs when the purchase is being made. My ID got checked when I was 17 and my mom was there. So they did their job. It is the responsibility of parents and retailer to make sure that the kids do not believe that the video game is reality. Also if they know that they are not able to handle the violence of a video game, they do not need to play it.

Take responsibility for your actions. Do not blame the video game or the makers.
