College Not a Waste of Time

Just thought to mention is that it frustrates me when I hear people complain about college. Right now I am sitting here reading my Applied Economics book and this someone is complaining how they hate their classes because they think that it is just a reiteration of what they learned before. I do not think that people listen to what they are being taught sometimes because they already assumed that they know it. However, if they just opened their ears and listen to the professor then they will catch new things that they have not heard.

For example, in Old Testament I am learning things about the Bible that I would have never thought of on my own and it fascinates me. Also in Western Civilization there are parts of history that I have never heard of before especially the Christian aspects of history. I went to a secular school most of my life and I never heard of the Christian aspects.

My point is that you came to college to learn and there are some things that you are going to hear over again. The best advice I can give to you is deal with it or do not come to college. This is just like hearing different theories in college, you are not going to like some of the ideas presented by your professor, but you need to suck it up.

I took a history class at my previous college and granted a lot of it was repeat, but there was some new things that I learned. I also had to deal with a socialist philosopher professor that got on my nerves, but I made it through the class.

Suck it up and deal with repeated facts. Eventually, there will be something new in that material. The other alternative is go to another college where you can choose a majority of your classes. The final alternative is do not come to college and go work at a hourly wage.
