Feeling Hopeless

This article is about women's rights in Afghanistan and after reading this I feel so hopeless for the women there.  Karazi is working with the Taliban and the Taliban has been known for their radical way of viewing Islam.  The religious authority in Afghanistan have deemed it right for men to beat their wives if they are disobedient, this is not the way Islam works.  Never does the Prophet Mohammad say to beat them, he does say one single hit for disobedience. By the way, I am not supporting abuse, I am simply showing a brief point from the Qur'an.  The Taliban has a complete misconstruded version of the Qur'an just like some radical Christians do in regards to the Bible.

I feel bad for these women in Afghanistan and the Taliban is going to take over again if it has not already done so.  They are leaders of radical Islam, in which, in today's world is never going to win out.  Unless, they keep a tight grip on the people like they do in Iran.  I feel like the war in Afghanistan will be pointless in some regards, we did overthrow the Taliban and we did do destruction to Al-Qaeda, but the people seem to be only a little bit more free than 11 years ago.  What is going to happen to them in the future?  I guess we will find out.

The Election Goes to Obama, Now Back to Reality

So I am happy that the election is finally over and buisness will resume soon.  So he won the Electoral Vote and barely lost the popular vote.  I bet that this win is a good and bad thing for him.  Good that he won the reelection, but now he has to start listening to the people and working with the House Republicans and encouraging Senator Reid to work with the House.  He now knows that he has to work a little harder for Americans to see him as favorable.

One thing is that he has to stop playing the blame game, the blame game needs to stop.  He needs to stop blaming Bush and Republicans because everyone is to blame for the way things are, including himself.  Example, the budget was not passed because Reid refused to put it on the floor for discussion and vote.  Boehner and Obama worked together to try to work out some kind of agreement and they did, but Reid refused to cooperate.

Another issue is Iran, we have to decide to do something about them because the after January you can expect Israel to attack.  If Israel attacks and Iran upholds its promise to attack American bases an interests, we are going to be in a war, whether we like it or not.  He has to find some way to deal with them and stop the automatic cuts on defense which is going to harm the economy and hurt our ability to brace ourselves for war.

Japan and China, he better get some diplomatic talks going, so those two do not get into it.

However, the main issue is that we need to start uniting this country.  We need to get both sides to work together.  Otherwise, this country will be in the crap hole because we could not compromise.  I apologize for attacking Harry Reid so much, but if you want to know he has been very uncooperative. At least to some degree Obama is willing to work across the aisle in a limited fashion.

Divided Nation

So when I saw this I got so angry, but I did not get angry at the extreme left for this.  I got angry because people believe what the extremist are claiming in this post. You honestly believe that people will do such a thing? I do not think that the Republicans told Democrats that the vote is on Novemeber 7th, that is the most dumbest thing that I have heard in a long time.  They know that Americans will believe any propaganda if you shove it in their face or show young people who tend to be extremists, both sides do it.  We young people are the most impressionable people, most of us will not do research.  We believe everything that is told to us and we take it and run with it.  Most young people are the ones that think out of the box and calm down a little later, but there are the few that truly believe when they are older.  Bolshevik Revolution was done by young people, Mao Tse-Sung was young when he began the Communist Revolution and he led many young people with him.
We have to start questioning the things that are told to us especially young people.  The media manipulates us and tries to make them believe that they are the only ones that know everything, when they are only scratching the surface of the problem.  This problem comes from when we were kids, some want to teach us what to think, but not how to think.  They do not teach us how to question the facts or interpret the facts, that comes when we are in college.
Now let me conclude how this all relates to a divided nation.  The extremists of both parties are making the people more split, they have been working at it for awhile to divide the nation.  We need to start having a middle ground because the nation is too divided.  Romney and Obama are tied in the elections and this shows that the country is divided.  I know that I have posted about this before BUT COMPROMISE IS NECESSARY. Our Founding Fathers have warned that factions are going to hurt our nation.  Another quote is that America is not going to fall from an outside country, but from within.  This would be possible if we keep up the divisions, we need to start getting along!!!

COMPROMISE PEOPLE!!  START GETTING ALONG, OUR NATION IS FALLING APART!!!

Visitor vs. Tourist

So Friday on the 12 of October I arrived in to NYC. Once I got out of Penn Station I had this feeling that I never left and that I could go anywhere I want without any help at all.  I came back and I felt like I could just go anywhere because I still remembered where the subway lines went or what streets take me where.

Over these past couple of days I have been doing normal things like, I went shopping at Fishes Eddy, went to a few stores, went to church, and went to Starbucks to do homework.  I felt like I was doing things that I had did two years ago, but this time I did not permanently live in NYC and I was no longer a student at King's.

There is a small difference between tourist and visitor. When I came here as a tourist, I wanted to go to all the sites and see what made New York what it was.  However, this time all I wanted to do is hang out with my friends and go and do things we did when I lived here.

I am still in NYC right now till tomorrow.  I will be posting another post tomorrow or Wednesday!!

Abortion

Abortion, it seems to become an issue in every election.  Well, I am sick of it and truly I am sick of it.  I personally do not support abortion, but what gives me the right to tell someone what to do with their body.  If complications occur during or after the abortion, then that is something that they will have to temporarily live with or permanently live with for the rest of their lives.

I know that my Christian friends are going to hate me for saying this and claim that I am not a real Christian, but in reality it is not my right to tell them how they want to deal with their body.  Now if I get engaged in a debate about abortion I will let them know how I feel and I will let them explain to me how they feel about it.  However, I feel that the abortion argument is dead and we do have laws that would explain all the consequences and when it is not allowed to have an abortion and so forth.

I get so sick of it being brought up and I figure this that God will be the judge.  Americans need to understand that we are going to disagree and we live in a nation where we are allowed to have different view points.  If you can't live with that you picked the wrong nation to live in.  America is divided and both sides need to start making concessions or we are going to be in a stalemate.

Americans and American government leaders wake up and realize that both sides need to compromise.  We live in a nation where one side of the spectrum is going to win or lose all.  Start making compromises or the nation will deteriorate.

Anti-American Protests across the Middle East and Parts of Africa

I am not at all surprised at the amount of protesting happening across the Middle East and parts of Africa.  These are extremists and they do not represent the majority of the people in their nations (maybe a couple).  They are not going to stop and there is going to be no way to appease them.  Some of the governments are not going to help the US out and we should not expect them to.  The reason we should not expect them to is simple, its because they care more about the attacks on their religion then anything else.

A.M.Ahad/AP
However, I hate the fact that our Americans have to suffer abroad because of stupid Americans here, that made the video.  Do they realize the lives that are at stake?  I bet they are not protesting the embassies strictly because of that, I bet some of them are using it as an excuse so they could kill some Americans.  However, the point is that I am not surprised that this has happened.  We have embassies located in countries that one month support America and another month oppose America.

Another issue is Iranian protests against America.  Remember we have to take those protests with a grain of salt.  Those people are in a midst of turmoil themselves.  Iranian media only wants to show us the parts that they feel are fine.  The Iranians are upset with their government and are trying to find ways to protest and defy the government.  Ayatollah Khamenei and Ahmadinejad are doing a very fine job in suppressing them because they are worried that they will go into civil war like Syria.

I am appalled at the fact that Americans lives have been taken, but then again that is part of reality.  All I want to conclude with is that these protests are going to happen again and again. There are countries and groups of people that do not like America and the Americans inside and we have to learn to cope with that.  On the other hand, we cannot let them push us around and apologizing to them for us being Americans is not right.

Side note: Maybe the next time America decides to help a group against their government, we should have stipulations for after they win and establish a new government.  On the other hand, just not help.

Election 2012 and Post -Election

So I just realized that I have not posted on this blog since June.  I have been a bit preoccupied with work, school, and Iran.

This photo combo shows President Obama in Chapel Hill, N.C. on April 24, and Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney on April 18, in Charlotte, N.C.
AP
I have decided that I am going to blog about this lovely thing called the Election of 2012.  Contenders Romney vs. Obama.  This election is extremely crucial because we will get an idea of how Americans feel about dear President Obama.  Also we will see how Romney is going to do in the election as well.  I think that both of the candidates have a lot of schmoozing to do to the American public.  They have to do a lot of schmoozing because the American people are upset and they are sick of the way things are going with the country (I talk as if I am an outsider).  I know that I am one unhappy American to some degree and I will let you know why in a minute.  Romney has to be able to persuade women, minorities, and to some degree religious minorities to vote for him.  Obama really just needs to let the people know that he is going to fulfill his promises if he is elected.

A part of me is pessimistic and believes that Obama will win, maybe not easily.  So you now see my bias and that is okay.  All I got to say that if Obama wins I hope that he will cooperate a little more with the opposing party and they do the same.  Romney, now if he gets elected I believe that he will have the ability to work with the Democrats.  I say this because people forget that he is a bit more liberal the most Republicans.  For instance, the healthcare bill that got passed for the nation actually used ideas from the one that he help make in Massachusetts.  He worked with the Democrats in his state and I believe that he could do it if he were to win.

Okay so now onto the other part of this post, Post-election.

So there are key issues that Obama or Romney are going to have to deal with.
Lovely Iran

This is important because Iran is getting pretty brave with this whole mining the strait and what not.  If they do mine the strait (which is international waters) that is considered an act of war, no matter what reason they do it for.  That means that the UN is going to have to do something about it or a coalition of countries are going to need to do something about it.

Lovely Israel

Now Israel, I think that they are going to attack Iran, but I still hope negotiations will work.  However, the thought of Iran with nukes or nuclear power is still risky.

The Economy

Yes that issue does still exist and it will for awhile.  The economy needs to pick up.  I am down for bringing jobs back to America, but remember things will be a bit more pricier because the objects are made in America.  So you better buy them or the jobs will go back to another country where there is cheap labor.

Issue of Polarization between the Conservatives an the Liberals

This is a big one because are wonderful Congress and the President need to work together.  Both sides need to understand that you are not going to get all that you want and the opposition is not going to let you get everything you want.  Think about life, you will never get everything you want, that is reality.  However, it is not just their fault for the lack of compromise.  It is the American public because they are divided so Congress is divided.  The American public needs to also learn that they are not going to get everything they want, a reality that needs to be recognized.  Politicians in Congress are so worried about getting re-elected that they do not want to compromise on the big issues and this is hurting America. Stop making politics a career, if you do not get re-elected then at least you will remember that you did your job and your constituents will see that the decision was a good or bad one in the future.

Compromise and a better economy is going to be key to sustaining this country.  Our dear Founding Fathers knew that factions were going to be a problem and it is a very big problem now.

I had a little fun with pics, there are a lot of battles.
