College Not a Waste of Time

Just thought to mention is that it frustrates me when I hear people complain about college. Right now I am sitting here reading my Applied Economics book and this someone is complaining how they hate their classes because they think that it is just a reiteration of what they learned before. I do not think that people listen to what they are being taught sometimes because they already assumed that they know it. However, if they just opened their ears and listen to the professor then they will catch new things that they have not heard.

For example, in Old Testament I am learning things about the Bible that I would have never thought of on my own and it fascinates me. Also in Western Civilization there are parts of history that I have never heard of before especially the Christian aspects of history. I went to a secular school most of my life and I never heard of the Christian aspects.

My point is that you came to college to learn and there are some things that you are going to hear over again. The best advice I can give to you is deal with it or do not come to college. This is just like hearing different theories in college, you are not going to like some of the ideas presented by your professor, but you need to suck it up.

I took a history class at my previous college and granted a lot of it was repeat, but there was some new things that I learned. I also had to deal with a socialist philosopher professor that got on my nerves, but I made it through the class.

Suck it up and deal with repeated facts. Eventually, there will be something new in that material. The other alternative is go to another college where you can choose a majority of your classes. The final alternative is do not come to college and go work at a hourly wage.

Communism Suppressing Religion

So today I am sitting in my Western Civilization class today and we are talking about the Collapse of the USSR and basically why Communism failed. I go to a Christian College, so we had religion mentioned in the lecture of course. Pope John Paul II came to Poland to see his fellow Polish folks and hold mass. When the Communist Government allowed him in to talk to his fellow people and hold mass was a big mistake for them. Reviving the spiritual aspect of their lives in the open helped bring about a revolution to Poland. Eventually, they became free of Communism about ten years after the Pope's visit.
I think that the Pope helped bring their spirituality into the open because Communism tends to suppress religion. You want to know why they do that?

Well I may not be right, but here is my opinion. They suppress religion because they know that if they have people believe in a religion, they will see that Communism is wrong and a faltering ideology. They will n
ot believe that salvation on earth can be achieve. Look at what the Communist Party in China did, they arrested Christians for holding Easter Services. They have been waiting a long time to do that to go after these Christians. They do not want them to practice the religion because they fear that they will influence the people that Communism is wrong. Also Christianity gives them a separate identity from the masses and they do not want that.

They want people to remain all the same and that nobody is different from one another. Another possibility that they suppress religion is because they relate it back to America. I remember reading in the National Geographic about a girl that got interviewed, she said that in school they are taught to hate Americans and the Japanese.

Christianity gets suppressed by Communist regimes all the time and most of them are completely Atheistic. Once you get rid of Christianity it allows for ethics and humanity to go down the drain. The people in China still do live in very poor situations. Look at North Korea they are starving and their government can care less because they are too worried about South Korea. People in Venezuela are going to start starving and most of them are because Hugo Chavez came in a turned things around. He is beginning the Communist regime there and he is taking away the property of the elite and is going to use them for the poor, supposedly.

I am happy to know that from other sources I hear that there are people working in those Countries to bring Christianity. I hope that eventually Christianity prevails in those countries because they need it. They need to know that they are made in GODS IMAGE TOO!!! They need to know that they deserve to be treated better than animals and slaves. They need to realize that there are people in other countries that care for them and we are trying to find ways to help them.

I think you should read this article http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/25/world/asia/25church.html?_r=3&smid=tw-nytimes&seid=auto

Spring In the City

Spring is actually pretty beautiful in the city. I think that this is the best weather I have seen in this city. Winter takes too long to leave, but when Spring comes, you forget about that terrible weather. Spring gives me a sense of renewal besides Easter. I am so excited to be here for the spring.
On the other han
d, I still cannot wait to go back to Arizona, to see that desert of mine. I miss that place, but I do love the spring in the city. For once, New York has a feeling of home, just a tad. Arizona will still remain my home forever. This second photo is wildflowers in Arizona and the top one is of central park. I did not take a pic of either of them.

Wonderful Easter

I love Easter so much. It makes me feel like all things are renewed. This is the beginning of the year for me because it is a day of renewal and forgiveness. Easter is a reminder of the Lord being risen from the dead and it is also a day to remember certain key stories in the Old Testament too. Like the day that Moses led the Jews out of Egypt. On Easter Christians should recognize that Easter is a day for celebrating Jesus rising from the dead and when the Jews left Egypt.
This is the day of renewal in my mind , a new day to begin to improve our lives,, well we should do that any day. Today is a new day to decide to fix something that you do not like doing or kick a bad habit. My habit that I am going to kick is cursing, a really bad habit and I hate to admit that I did something so wrong. Easter Sunday is my new year and is the day when I try to fix something about my life. The Lord rose from the dead, he died for our sins. We should at least attempt to kick one of those sinful behaviors out of our life starting today.
As I am writing this right now I feel like their is a special shining coming from my window, today the light is much brighter out of my window

Once Again Another Bad Year for Sports in Arizona

So the Phoenix Coyotes are he only ones that played great this season, they actually made it to the playoffs, but lost the first round. Well, that is the only team that has done well this year and will be the only team. It has been predicted that Cardinals have no hope at all because they have one of the worst quarterback issues in the NFL. Arizona Diamondbacks (no surprise) have one of the worst standings in the MLB, they have been playing bad since they won the World Series. However, we are still happy that we beat the Yankees in 2001, that is still a very happy moment. From what I hear from several Yankees fans they are still upset that they lost to the Diamondbacks hehehehe.
Now finally to the Phoenix Suns, I think that they have some hope for this year, bu it is always a toss up. They did not make it to the playoffs this year. I offer the most hope to this team out of all of them. They better do well this year.

2:30 am the F Train

Alright so here I am sitting on the F train and just desiring to be in my bed. Then I hear a conversation start up about the AMERICAN DREAM. I was like this is going to be interesting. However, this conversation is going on between one drunk man and a sober woman. She made the argument that you can never have the American dream because you will never get to where you want to be no matter how hard you work. His drunken argument is that it is possible to get where you want to be if you work. However, she continuously to disagree. My opinion is that there is an American dream, but it is what you want your American dream to be. The American dream does not have to be making so much money that you can by designer clothes for the rest of your life. The American dream can be whatever you want it to be , if you want to be a rich socialite, well find your way to become that. The American dream can be a housewife, a regional manger for Starbucks (I so would not mind having that job), a politician, a business man, an artist, a musician, a soldier, working for the Red cross, and etc... I believe that working hard does get you where you want to be. The only thing to ask yourself is, "where do I want to be when I am 35?" Then you find what the necessary work is to get to where you want to be. I think for myself I want to home-school my children and be a stay at home mother. However, I am getting the degrees that I need for a back up plan if I cannot afford to be a stay at home mother or I am single for the rest of my life. That is what I ultimately would love to do. Now if I do have to find work, I think that I will work with kids in juvenile facilities to tell them to do better with their lives. I would love to work with them and plus on some levels I can relate to them

Bored

Okay I am super bored right now. I have exhausted playing video games and do not feel like watching shows on the internet. Life can be so boring at times. If you are wondering about homework, well I have attempted that and could not focus. I do not understand why I am so restless what is going on with me? So I decided to go to the store to pick up random items, walked around the block a couple of times, that is the most exciting thing that I have done today. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly and I can hang out with my friend on the lower east side. I need to find some interesting things to do in NYC that is cheap.
While I am waiting...I read some of my homework assignment for philosophical apologetics. This book that we are currently reading is highly interesting, it is called Economics in a Christian Perspective. I love this book it is so interesting. Did you know that the US private sector helps out more then the private sector of France. On the other hand, I think it is because FRANCE HAS HARDLY A PRIVATE SECTOR. I think that it is great that the private sector helps out the poor and it shows that the private sector can help people a lot. That maybe these countries in the EUROPEAN UNION should think about expanding the private sector. Also did you know that because people depend on the government, they feel like they should be held less responsible for their actions and blame the government? I already knew that fact. We should not have to depend on the government for social helps. The private sector does a better job at helping the poor and helping solve social problems. Every time the government runs something, it runs into the ground because the one solution does not fit for everyone.

False Propaganda

You know what I think is one of the stupidest things in the world is false propaganda. I remember when I was looking at colleges and hearing the schools talk about how their schools is ideal. I guess that is how desperate some colleges are. Why can you not talk about the disadvantages of your college along with the benefits of the school? Did you know that it is actually cheaper to have meal system under the school because you do not have to pay for a direct cost of food nor do you have to worry about feeding yourself for the next week. The schools that I was thinking about going to school with were much cheaper then it is now. However, I accept the disadvantages and the benefits of the school. The school currently has more benefits then disadvantages. However, it is sad seeing these poor potential students believing in what is being told and not questioning the "facts" that they are being present with.

God and Relationships

I am currently suppose to be typing up an outline for my English Class, but I cannot concentrate. There are times when I ponder about my life and I am sure that we all do that. However, I am feeling at despair sometimes because I do not know what God has planned for me...of course none of us really know yet. I do not know if God ever wants met to be in a relationship and get married. You know it just does not seem like that is ever going to be a possibility. I know, if there are readers, you are thinking that you are too young to be thinking about this. Well, I do not think so, I am 21 and have not had a relationship in a very long time. Another argument is that times have changed and you got plenty of time to find someone, that is not true either, especially if you plan on having children.

Anyw
ays, we hear from many different perspectives is that some people God wants them to be single, so that they can serve God completely. Another point of view is that some people just are not going to end up married, not everyone gets married. Then there is just people that were meant to have relationships. I WANT TO BE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE TO BE MARRIED!!! I see people getting engaged and getting married all the time...I think that they are so lucky and at the same time is that I am sad. I am sad because I do not think it will happen to me. I would trade my intelligence just to be married and have a family.

Maybe some people right now think I am a nutcase for suggesting the possibility of giving up intelligence. I love seeing couples that do not have much, but they still love each other. Love in a relationship is amazing to see. Someday, I hope that I can have a husband and be able to tell him that I love him.

I really hope that the Lord has it in his plans for me to get married, I really do. I know that ya'll think I am sap, well I can be at times. If you know me, you know that I have an outward appearance that is displayed as not a sap haha.

Today society requires women do the first move thing. However, I do not think that it is suppose to be that way. I believe that God intended men to be the men. I believe that God intended the men to be the go-getters. I love the fact that I am not equal to man because I am proud to be a woman. Women are to submit to their husbands, and men are to love their wives as God loves the church. The Lord is amazing!!

By the way, this may seem like a desperate plea for a guy to come my way. However, I am not doing that because I know that the time will come eventually for a man to come around, if the Lord has it in His plans. This is just me expressing my feelings that I rightfully can express. If you have a problem, get over it, there is nothing wrong with freedom of expression.

One Person in One Big City

Now I am always complaining about New York City: there are no stars, open fields, and so forth. However, I guess the one benefit of New York City is that you can sit in a park and cry your eyes out without anyone noticing or caring. I know that sounds terrible, but it makes me cry more when people ask and when people want to give hugs. Also I am ashamed when I cry in front of my friends sometimes because I think I am intruding upon people and my friends. I know that friends are people that you run to when you have problems, but sometimes it is hard for me because I always feel like I am intruding upon them. That could be reason as to why I have not had a boyfriend in such a long time. However, I like the fact that I can do that and no one will ask me .

Yesterday after the Interregnum with my school, we were all at the Shake Shack and that is when I decided to go and sit on a bench alone and cry. The reason why I was crying is because I am a jumper with my friends. I do not belong to any particular group, I do not know why. However, I do have many different friends that are in many different groups. So I tend to visit one group of friends and then jump to another, but I never feel part of a group. I do not think that I ever will either. I know that God wants us to have community and we are meant to socialize with others. However, I feel weird when I am in groups, I guess it is because I have not found the right crowd with. Granted I have found a group of friends I work well with and I feel like a belong, but the problem is that I have not been able to get that intrusion feeling off of me yet

Thinking About Possibilites

I am often wondering about love. I have not had a boyfriend for several years and I have only attempted to go out with two guys. I sometimes think that there is something wrong with me. However in Rob Bell's Sex God book he tells his readers that there is nothing wrong with us, we should just be happy with what the Lord gave us. Easier said then done. I live in America, where the ideal woman is thin and perfect in looks. I am neither of those, maybe in my own special way I am pretty. I am generally a very nice person, but nice gets you no where in America sometimes. I just wish that Americans were not so strung up on the looks, that is partially why as a nation we are becoming slowly immoral and/or moral relativism.

We are too focus on the superficial that we are losing the morals of our society. No one bothers to look through the surface to the person hidden beneath. For instance, some people completely ignore people that do not look at them, they sometimes that they are human too. People willy nilly go and have abortions like crazy, but they do not see that there is a baby in there that can feel the pain that is being inflicted on them. The nervous system is the first system to develop. Another problem that we have morally is that we forget usually criminals have feelings too and they sometimes need someone to talk to them about the problems. However, they need someone that is real that has gone through the same problems of them, has gotten out of those situations.

I just think that there is a problem with morals in are nation that has begun with looking at the superficial. Men and women care too much about the looks. However, you know what is so funny, the couple of boyfriends that I actually had, is that I actually liked them for their personality first and in the long-run I became more physically attracted to them. Maybe if we look deeper into the person, then we will develop morally.

We have to remember that God created us in His image. We are all humans, we have to remember that we have feelings and problems just like each other.
